Miles To Go

After very different careers in business and entertainment, we were sent in this direction at the recommendation of friends. We are married, proud parents, and the only two teachers in our program.

In our first year, we began publishing the research we used in our programs in a quarterly written newsletter called The Drug Fact Update, which became a popular teaching tool for instructors in the classroom. As technology changed through the years, this has evolved into weekly news reports posted on Twitter, Facebook, podcasts, and periodic email newsletters. After our first decade of parent presentations, we turned our lectures into handbooks called Lessons in Drug Prevention. These short parenting guides are meant to be read while waiting in carpool, or sitting at the soccer field. We are very proud of these handbooks and are especially touched when a parent pulls one out of their purse filled with sticky notes!

We strive to simplify a complex subject into understandable terms and make that knowledge applicable in everyday life. Our goal is to integrate the science of drugs into biology, psychology, pop culture, life-long learning and our emotional and social lives. We want to encourage healthy and informed choices for families.

We operate from the core belief that proactive language and positive self-talk have the power to change lives. We are committed to the idea that drug education is not just about drugs, but that it's also about communication, life skills, and relationships. We see drugs not as the problem, but as a symptom of larger problems that are not being dealt with in an effective way.

We believe we have miles to go before we are done learning how drugs can help and hurt our children, our selves, our elders and our friends. We use all media resources to examine drug addiction and substance abuse. Drug prevention is not a black and white subject - it is a gray area of constantly changing information where we learn from each other and apply that knowledge in our lives.

As a socially responsible company, we have always believed that it is important to give back by making as much drug prevention information available for free to all student, teachers, parents and professionals.

For the first time in 26 years, we are making our lectures (previously only available via live classroom presentations and assemblies in schools) available to the entire country for free. While our in-school lectures will still be available for our standard lecture fees, our podcasts, YouTube lectures, research links pages and homework pages will be free to any school.

We are a for-profit Mom and Pop business and have always provided this service for free. In times of need, we are asking anyone who is willing to donate to this program to use the PayPal donation button below to help fund this service. It is extremely important to understand that a donation to a for profit company cannot provide a tax deduction receipt.
